My name is Julian Hofschneider, and I’m a Bilingual Contact Tracer working for the Tracing Health Program in Clark County, Washington. My prior experience as 26 years in education actually has really prepared me for this position because every single person that we speak to is a totally different individual.
We are unique because we are actually not medical professionals. We are just like everybody else, a regular citizen. I had an incident where I actually tried to reach out to one of our clients and the wife answered the phone and all she said was he has passed don’t call this number again and just hung up the phone on me. And I was just shocked because I didn’t know how to respond to that. I wish that I had an opportunity to release sorry about your loss, but, you know, I didn’t want to call back because she instructed me not to do that. And but that’s something that I cannot just had to learn how to let go.
I don’t take things for granted nowadays. I, I wake up being grateful. My one wish is that my work will be very instrumental in curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
